The original Carpet One Floor & Home was opened in 1977 by Russell Perry. Perry got into the industry shortly after college and started with his first store named “Fashion Floors,” which would change several times before it officially became Carpet One Floor & Home in 1996. While the location changed once, the Carpet One Floor & Home store that is up and running today has been in the same spot in La Grande for over twenty-five years. Perry was happy to see success in his original store and decided to open a second Carpet One store in 2003 in Enterprise.
